A delicious South Indian pachadi with banana stem. Best served with rice.
Vazhaithandu Pachadi
Ingredients:
Vazhaithandu (Banana Stem) – 1 small piece, remove the hard skin, finely chopped
Green Chillies – 1
Coconut – 1 tsp, grated
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Asafoetida – a pinch
Coriander Leaves – handful
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Curd – 1 cup
Ghee – 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste

Method:
1. Combine and grind the vazhaithandu, coconut, green chillies, coriander, cumin and salt to a smooth paste.
2. Add to the curd and mix well.
3. Heat ghee in a pan.
4. Fry the mustard seeds, asafoetida and urad dal.
5. Pour this over the pachadi.
6. Serve.
