Pepper Chicken

Ingredients

  • 250 g Chicken
  • 50 g Shallots (Sambar Onions) chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • a pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • a pinch Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 Tomato small, chopped
  • handful Coriander Leaves
  • handful Curry Leaves
  • as per taste Salt
  • as required Oil

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pressure pan over medium flame.
  • Saute the onions, tomatoes, curry leaves and ginger garlic paste for a minute or two.
  • Add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Stir to mix well.
  • Add chicken pieces and enough water.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and pressure cook for 2 whistles or until the chicken is cooked.
  • Once the pressure has reduced, remove the lid.
  • Add pepper powder, coriander leaves and remove.
  • Serve with rice.
