Raw Rice Idli Recipe

Raw Rice – 4 cups
Urad Dal – 2 cups, whole
Salt – 3 to 4 tsp

1. Wash rice and soak it in hot water for 3 to 4 hours.
2. Wash and soak dal in 5 to 6 cups of water for 15 to 30 minutes.
3. Grind dal till frothy.
4. Grind rice till a fine rawa consistency is achieved.
5. Add salt and mix the dal batter.
6. Grind for 2 to 3 minutes and remove.
7. Mix well and allow to ferment overnight or for 12 hours.
8. To prepare the idlis, pour the batter onto greased idli plates.
9. Steam cook for 20 to 30 minutes until ready.
10. Serve hot with chutney.
