Nadan Chemmeen Curry
Prawns – 250 gms, shelled, heads removed, deveined, washed
Red Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
Green Chillies – 2, slit
Small Onions – 4, chopped
Tamarind Extract – 5 to 6 tblsp (or more as desired)
Ginger – 1 inch piece, chopped
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Coconut – 1/4, chopped
Salt – 1/2 tsp or as per taste
Curry Leaves – few
Oil – 3/4 tblsp

1. Place a pan over moderate heat.
2. Add all the ingredients except oil and curry leaves.
3. Pour 1/2 cup of water and cook over low heat till prawns are cooked and gravy thickens.
4. Add the curry leaves and oil.
5. Remove from heat.
6. Serve hot with rice.
