This cocktail came about by sheer chance during the 1930s. An American bar owner had overstocked on ginger beer, and a representative of the soft drinks company invented the Moscow Mule to help him out.
INGREDIENT:
2 measure vodka
1 measure lime juice
4-6 cracked ice cubes
Ginger beer, to top up
Slice of lime, to decorate.
METHOD:
1. Shake the vodka and lime juice vigorously over ice until well frosted.
2. Half fill a chilled highball glass with cracked ice cubes and strain the cocktail over them.
3. Top up with ginger beer. Dress with a slice of lime.
