Orange Scones Recipe

All-purpose Flour – 2 cups
Cane Sugar – 1/2 cup + 1 tblsp
Baking Powder – 1 tblsp
Baking SOda – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Nutmeg – 1/2 tsp, nutmeg
Orange Juice – 1/2 cup + 1 tblsp
Orange Extract – 1 tsp
Orange Zest – 1 tblsp, grated
Butter – 1/2 cup

1. Mix the flour with 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and nutmeg.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk the orange juice, orange extract and orange zest together.
3. Mix it with the flour mixture and combine well.
4. Add butter and mix well.
5. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 60 seconds.
6. Make small-medium balls and shape it into a small pizza crust like shape.
7. Lightly flatten it into the desired thickness.
8. Cut the dough with a large knife into four wedges.
9. Place each wedge onto a baking sheet.
10. Cover the dough with 1 tblsp orange juice.
11. Sprinkle 1 tblsp sugar.
12. Bake in a preheated oven at 180C/350F for about 15 minutes.
13. Remove and place on a wire rack to cool.
14. Serve with jam of choice.
