To ensure a creamy banana daiquiri, use a very ripe banana. Don’t be afraid of a few brown spots. Inside, the fruit will be white and sweet.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups ice
1 banana, peeled and broken into pieces
3 ounces gold rum
2 ounces crème de banane
Juice of 2 limes
2 teaspoons superfine sugar
METHOD:
1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender.
2. Cover and pulse on and off until the mixture starts to swirl evenly.
3. Blend on high for 20 seconds, or until the drink is completely smooth.
Variations
BERRY BANANA DAIQUIRI Add 4 semi-frozen strawberries before blending.
BUTTERSCOTCH BANANA DAIQUIRI Omit the sugar. Add 1 tablespoon butterscotch topping before blending.
CHOCOLATE BANANA DAIQUIRI Omit the sugar. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup (according to taste) before blending.
ORANGE BANANA DAIQUIRI Reduce the crème de banane to 1 ounce. Add 1 ounce triple sec before blending.
SPICED BANANA DAIQUIRI Omit the gold rum. Add 2 ounces spiced rum (such as Captain Morgan) and 1 ounce cinnamon schnapps before blending.
