Fish Curry with Coconut and Red Chilli

Ingredients:
Fish Steaks – 750 gms, cleaned
Oil – 1 tblsp
Coconut Red Chilli Masala – 1 cup
Amsul (Kokam) – 4 pods, soaked in 1 tblsp water
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste

For Marinade:
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Lime Juice – 1 tblsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp

Method:
1. Mix the marinade ingredients.
2. Rub into fish and marinate for 15 minutes.
3. Heat oil in a flat-bottomed pan over medium heat.
4. Add coconut red chilli masala and fry lightly.
5. Bring to boil and then lower heat.
6. Cover pan with lid and simmer.
7. Add the marinated fish along with the marinade.
8. Add kokum along with water in which it was soaked, lime juice, 1 cup of water, sugar and salt.
9. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
10. Serve with plain rice.
