Ingredients

  • 375 g Fish Steaks (cut into chunks (any fish of your choice))
  • 1 small Onion (finely sliced)
  • 2 small Lemons (cut into thick slices)
  • Juice of 1/2 Lemon
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 2 small Cucumbers (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tbsp Coriander Leaves (minced)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 to 4 Skewers (if using bamboo skewers, soak them for 30 minutes)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine 1/2 tsp of salt with the sliced onions. Let them sit for 30 minutes, then rinse them under running water. Pat dry and return them to the bowl.
  • Add the juice of 1/2 lemon, sugar, and minced coriander leaves to the onions. Mix well and set aside.
  • Thread the fish chunks and lemon slices alternately onto the skewers.
  • Sprinkle salt and garam masala powder evenly over the skewered fish.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
  • Place the skewers in the pan and cook for 2 minutes on each side until the fish is cooked through and has a slight char.
  • While the fish cooks, add the diagonally sliced cucumbers to the onion mixture and mix gently.
