Chana Dal Rice Recipe

Parboiled Rice – 2 cups
Chana Dal – a handful
Green Cardamoms – 2, crushed
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Water – 6 cups
Ghee – 1 tblsp
Bayleaf – 2
Coconut – 2 inch piece, chopped
Salt as per taste

1. Soak the dal for one hour.
2. Wash and drain rice.
3. Heat ghee in a pan.
4. Add bayleaves, cardamom and coconut.
5. Fry for 30 to 60 seconds over medium flame.
6. Add rice and dal.
7. Fry for 2 minutes.
8. Add water, salt and sugar.
9. Cook till done.
10. Serve hot.
