Almond Syrup (Kesar Badam Syrup) Recipe

Almonds – 1 cup, blanched, peeled and dried
Ghee – 4 tsp
Sugar – 4 cups
Water – 3 cups
Kesar Yellow Colour – 1/4 tsp
Almond Essence – 1 tsp

1. Fry the almonds with ghee over low flame for 3 to 5 minutes.
2. Remove and cool.
3. Powder the almonds finely using a mixie.
4. Heat sugar and water till boiling.
5. Cool down and filter it through a muslin cloth.
6. Mix the powdered almonds, kesar yellow colour and almond essence.
7. Transfer it to sterilized bottles and refrigerate.
8. To serve, mix 1 1/2 tblsp of almond syrup with 1 cup of milk.

To make Kesar Badam Syrup:- Instead of kesar yellow colour, use 2 tsp of saffron dissolved in warm water.
