Mutton and Lamb

Lamb in Coconut Sauce


Leg of Lamb – 500 gms, cut into pieces
Oil – 1/2 cup
Onions – 3, finely sliced
Ginger – 1 tsp, ground
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Green Chillies – 2, chopped
Water – 3 to 4 cups
Potatoes – 2, quartered
Curry Leaves – 5 o 6
Coconut Cream – 1 cup
Salt as per taste
Pepper as per taste

1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Add the onions, ginger, green chillies and 1/2 tsp garam masala powder.
3. Add the lamb pieces and brown them all together.
4. Add water and cook till the lamb is tender.
5. Add the potatoes, curry leaves, coconut cream, salt and pepper.
6. Simmer till the mutton and potatoes are cooked, keep about 1 1/2 cups of gravy.
7. Serve with rice.
