Rice and Meatballs

Basmati Rice – 1 cup
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Curry Powder or Garam Masala Powder – 2 tsp
Meat Balls – 250 to 300 gms
Oil – 2 tblsp
Salt as per taste

1. Heat the oil in a thick-bottomed pan.
2. Fry the meat balls for 2 to 3 minutes adding salt to taste.
3. Lower the heat and mix in the rice and the spices.
4. Stir-fry for 3 to 4 minutes more.
5. Add 2 1/2 cups of water and lower the heat.
6. Cover the pan and cook on low heat till all the water is absorbed and meat balls and rice is cooked.
7. Serve.
