Chettinad Cabbage Curry

Ingredients:
Cabbage – 250 gms
Onion – 1 cup
Red Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Coconut – 1 cup, grated
Salt as per taste
Oil
Jeera – 1 tsp
Urad Dal – 2 tsp
Curry Leaves – handful

Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Fry urad dal till brown.
3. Add jeera and fry for 15 to 20 seconds.
4. Add the chopped onions and curry leaves.
5. Let it cook for 4 to 5 minutes and add the chopped cabbage.
6. Mix well.
7. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.
8. Continue to cook on a low flame and keep stirring twice or thrice.
9. Close it with a lid and let it cook for 15 minutes.
10. After 15 minutes, add grated coconut.
11. Garnish with curry leaves.
12. Serve hot as a side dish to plain rice.
