Fried Colocasia


Colocasia – 250 gms
Ghee – 1 cup + 1 tblsp
Asafoetida – a pinch
Ajwain – 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp

1. Boil colocasia till tender.
2. Peel and cut in half lengthwise and flatten them.
3. Heat 1 cup of ghee in a pan and fry the colocasia till crisp and golden.
4. Drain and put into another pan.
5. Heat 1 tblsp of ghee and fry asafoetida and ajwain for a minute.
6. Remove from heat.
7. Add the chilli powder and salt.
8. Pour over the fried colocasia.
9. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 to 5 minutes.
10. Serve.
