Sukha Dal

Green Gram Dal – 1/2 cup
Onion – 1
Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
Garlic – 4 flakes
Green Chillies – 2
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Dhania Powder – 1 tsp
Curry Leaves – 1 tblsp
Oil – 1 tblsp
Lemon – 1

1. Cut the onions finely.
2. Grind ginger, garlic and green chillies.
4. Heat oil in a pan.
5. Fry ginger, garlic, chilli paste for a minute.
6. Add the onions and fry till translucent.
7. Add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, dhania powder and curry leaves.
8. Fry for a minute, mix with uncooked dal and enough water.
9. Keep in pressure cooker and cook till one whistle.
10. Remove from heat and mash lightly.
11. Garnish with coriander leaves.
12. Squeeze lemon juice on top.
13. Serve hot.
