Tamatar Ka Shorba Recipe

Tomatoes – 800 gms
Vegetable Oil – 4 tbsp
Cloves – 5 to 6
Cinnamon – 3 to 4
Bay Leaves – 2
Green Cardamoms – 4
Ginger – 1/2 tbsp, chopped
Garlic – 1 tbsp, chopped
Water – 5 cups
Salt to taste
Black Pepper Powder to taste
Cream – 1/3 cup

1. Heat the oil in a deep pan.
2. Add all the whole spices and saute till they crackle.
3. Add the tomatoes, ginger, garlic and water.
4. Bring the mixture to the boil and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
5. Remove from heat and mash the tomatoes.
6. Strain the liquid through a soup strainer into another pan.
7. Discard the tomato pulp.
8. Heat the soup, adjust the seasoning and remove from heat.
9. Stir in the cream and serve hot.
