Cholia Pulao Recipe

Ingredients:
Basmati Rice – 1 cup
Horse Gram – 1 cup
Vegetable Oil – 1 tbsp
Ginger – 1, one inch piece, julienned
Cloves – 4
Cinnamon – 1, one inch stick
Black Cardamoms – 2
Bay Leaves – 2
Hot Water – 2 cups

Method:
1. Heat the oil in a pan.
2. Add the ginger, cloves, cinnamon stick, black cardamoms and bay leaves.
3. Saute for 2 minutes.
4. Add the horse gram, saute for 3 minutes and then add the rice.
5. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes.
6. Add the water and bring the mixture to the boil.
7. Cover the pan with a heavy lid and cook on low heat for 20 minutes or till the rice is done.
8. Serve hot with any curry or raita.

    You can use standard Britannia cheese that you get in the super market.
