Ingredients:
Cabbage – 500 gms, finely shredded and washed
Coconut Oil – 45 ml
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Onions – 4 1/2 tblsp, chopped
Green Chillies – 3, chopped
Curry Leaves – few
Urad Dal – 1/2 tsp
Coconut – 1/2, grated
Salt to taste
Grind to a paste:
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Aniseed – 1/2 tsp
Black Peppercorns – 5
Garlic – 5 cloves
Method:
1. Heat the coconut oil in a pan.
2. Add the mustard seeds, onions, green chillies, curr leaves and urad dal.
3. Saute till the urad dal turns light golden brown.
4. Add the cabbage and the cumin seed paste.
5. Stir well.
6. Mix half of the grated coconut and check for seasoning.
7. Cover and cook on a slow flame for 15 minutes.
8. Garnish with the remaining coconut.
9. Serve hot.
