Kozhi Porichathu (Fried Chicken) Recipe

Chicken – 800 gms, shredded into pieces
Oil – 4 tblsp
Cinnamon Sticks – 2
Aniseed – 2 tsp
Garlic Cloves – 2 tblsp, chopped
Sambar Onions – 250 gms, chopped
Tomatoes – 4, medium and chopped
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 2 1/2 tsp
Water – 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Coconut – 1, grated
Ginger – 1/2 tsp, julienned

1. Heat the oil in a kadai.
2. Add the cinnamon sticks, aniseed and garlic.
3. Saute for a few seconds.
4. Add the samabar onions, tomatoes and chicken.
5. Saute for 10 minutes.
6. Add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, water and salt.
7. Mix well.
8. Cook the chicken till it is 75% done.
9. Add the coconut and ginger and cook till the chicken is tender.
10. Serve hot.
