Sweetened Yellow Rice

Rice – 2 cups, washed
Clarified Butter – 2 tsp
Cloves – 4
Black Cardamom – 1
Water – 4 1/2 cups
Saffron – 1 pinch
Sugar – 1 cup

1. Heat the clarified butter in a kadai.
2. Add the cloves and black cardamom.
3. Fry for 1-2 minutes.
4. Add the rice and mix well.
5. Pour in the water and the saffron or edible colour.
6. Cook until the rice is half done.
7. Mix the sugar and cook on low heat until all the water evaporates and the rice is tender.
8. Serve hot.
