Moong Masoor Dal

Green Gram (Moong Dal) – 1/2 cup
Lentil (Masoor Dal) – 1/2 cup
Turmeric Powder – 1tsp
Salt to taste
Clarified Butter – 1/2 cup
Onion – 1/2 cup, chopped
Garlic – 2 tsp, chopped
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Tomatoes – 1/2 cup, chopped
Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Green Coriander – 2 tbsp, chopped

1. Boil the green gram and lentil in 2 cups of water with turmeric powder and salt.
2. Cook until tender.
3. Keep aside.
4. Heat the clarified butter in a kadai adds the onions, garlic and cumin seeds.
5. Fry till light brown.
6. Add the tomatoes, coriander powder, and red chilli powder and saute till the tomatoes turn soft. 7. Add this to the cooked green gram mixture.
8. Mix well.
9. Serve hot, garnished with green coriander.
