Tangy Prawn Curry


Prawns – 500 gms, shelled, deveined
Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp
Clarified Butter – 1 tbsp
Tomatoes – 3, quartered
Garlic Cloves – 10
Ginger – 2 tsp, julienned
Green Chillies – 6, slit
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste

1. Mix the prawns well the lemon juice.
2. Set aside for 10 minutes.
3. Wash the prawns under running water.
4. Drain and keep aside.
5. Heat the clarified butter in a kadai, add the tomatoes.
6. Stir and add the garlic, ginger and green chillies.
7. Sauté until the tomatoes turn soft.
8. Add 1/2 cup water and bring the mixture to a boil.
9. Mix in the red chilli, turmeric and cumin powders.
10. Add the salt and the prawns.
11. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the water evaporates and the prawns are done.
12. Serve hot.
