Ingredients:
Rice – 2 cups, cooked
Coconut – 2 cups, grated
Sugar – 3 cups, powdered
Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
Saffron Strands – 1/4 tsp, soaked in 1 tblsp warm milk
Cloves – 4
Ghee – 4 tblsp
Raisins – few
Almonds or Cashewnuts – few, chopped
Method:
1. Combine the rice with coconut, saffron and sugar.
2. Mix well.
3. Heat ghee in a small frying pan.
4. Add the cloves, almonds, raisins and cardamom powder.
5. Fry for 10 to 20 seconds.
6. Add this to the rice and place it on medium flame.
7. Cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, until sugar melts and blends with the ingredients.
8. Stir and mix well.
9. Remove and serve hot.
