Ingredients:
Yam – 2 cups, peeled and chopped into 1 inch pieces
Water – 4 cups
Salt to taste
Button Onions – 2 tblsp
Dry Red Chillies – 3
Peppercorns – few
Garlic Cloves – 6
Curry Leaves – few
Refined Vegetable Oil – 2 tblsp
Method:
1. Wash the yam pieces twice, drain and cook in 4 cups of boiling water.
2. Add salt after the yam is cooked.
3. Drain off the excess water.
4. Crush button onions, red chillies, peppercorns and garlic cloves.
5. Heat oil in a pan.
6. Add the crushed ingredients. Saute well.
7. Add the cooked yam pieces and mix gently.
8. When the pieces are well coated, remove from heat.
9. Serve hot.
