Ingredients:
Knol Khol – 3, medium
Tuvar Dal – 4 tblsp
Green Chillies – 2, slit
Coconut – 2 tblsp, grated
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
For Seasoning:
Sesame Seed Oil – 1 tblsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Red Chilli – 1, broken
Curry Leaves – 2 sprigs
Coriander Leaves – 1 tblsp, chopped
Method:
1. Pare knol-khol, cut into medium size cubes.
2. Add enough water, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt and cook till soft.
3. Cook dal separate with just enough water and 1/4 tsp turmeric powder till it is just done.
4. Heat oil, add seasonings, except coriander leaves and, when done, add green chillies and cooked dal. Stir fry.
5. Add cooked vegetable and coconut, fry for 1 to 2 minutes adding chopped coriander leaves.
6. Mix well.
7. Serve with rice and sambar.
