Dill Leaf Vada Recipe

Chana Dal – 2 cups
Dill – 1/2 to 1 cup, minced
Onions – 2 medium, chopped
Oil for frying
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Green Chillies – 4
Red Chillies – 4
Curry Leaves – 2 sprigs
Salt to taste

1. Soak dal for 3 hours.
2. Drain all water and grind to a rough paste with ginger, green chillies, red chillies, curry leaves and salt.
3. To ground batter, add onions and dill, mix.
4. Heat oil in a kadai.
5. Take small lumps of batter, flatten them on the palm of your hand or on a plastic sheet.
6. Gently drop in oil and deep fry to golden brown, turning over once or twice.
7. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
