Ingredients:
Saffron – 2 pinch
Basmati Rice – 2 cups
Ghee or Oil – 3 tblsp
Cumin Seeds – 2 tsp
Bay Leaf – 2
Water – 4 cup
Mint Leaves – as required
Salt – 1 1/2 tsp
Method:
1. Wash the rice in warm water.
2. Soak it for about 20 minutes.
3. Heat the ghee. Add cumin seeds and bay leaf.
4. Fry for a minute.
5. Add rice and fry till the rice begins to clump.
6. Add saffron and salt.
7. Pour 4 cups of water and simmer till the water gets evaporated.
8. Put the lid and reduce the flame to low.
9. Simmer for another 10 minutes so that the rice becomes fluffy.
10. Garnish with mint leaves and serve hot.
