Fish in Green Masala Recipe

Fillets of Pomfret or White Fleshed Fish – 1/2 kg
Lemon Juice – 1 tsp
Onion – 1 large, finely sliced
Salt – 1 1/2 tsp
Vegetable Oil – 2 tblsp

Grind to a Paste:
Coconut – 1/2, grated
Garlic – 4 large cloves
Cumin Seeds – 1 heaped tsp
Fresh Coriander – 4 tblsp, roughly chopped
Onions – 1 large or 2 small
Green Chillies – 3

1. In a wide shallow pan heat oil and fry sliced onion in it till pale yellow and soft.
2. Add masala paste and cook for 5 minutes. Add lemon juice.
3. Gradually add 1/2 cup water and continue cooking 10 minutes more.
4. Add fillets of fish and salt and blend well.
5. Simmer, covered, till fish is cooked.
