Plain Boiled Rice

Ingredients:
Ghee – 1 tblsp
Basmati Rice – 1 3/4 cups, washed and drained
Water  – 2 cups
Salt as per taste

Method:
1. Rinse the basmati rice well in cold water until most of the starch is removed and the water runs clear.
2. Heat the ghee in a pan and saute the drained rice thoroughly for about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the water and salt and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover and cook gently for 10-15 minutes.
4. To Serve, fluff the grains gently with a fork.
