Cabbage – 2 cups, finely cut
Onion – 3 tblsp, chopped
Tamarind extract – little
Cooked Tuvar Dal – 1/4 cup
Salt as required
Jaggery – optional
Oil for frying
Red Chillies – 8 to 10
Fresh Coconut – 2 tblsp, grated
Coriander Seeds – 1 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Pepper – few
1. Cook cabbage separately in just enough water till soft or steam for few minutes.
2. Heat oil in a frying pan, add chopped onions and fry till golden.
3. Add cabbage, ground paste and fry for few minutes till good smell comes.
4. Add tamarind extract, salt, cooked dal and fry till it becomes a thick paste.
5. Serve with rice.
