Masaledar Karela Recipe

Karela – 6 (5 inch long)
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Cumin powder – 1 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Onion – 2, sliced
Dry mango powder – 1 tsp
Oil for cooking
Salt as per taste

1. Slit the karela lengthwise and remove the seeds.
2. Cut karelas into thin rounds.
3. Toss well in 2 tbsp salt and set aside for 4 hours.
4. Wash karelas again and squeeze dry.
5. Fry the karelas in hot oil till golden brown.
6. Drain on paper napkins and set aside.
7. Fry sliced onions in 2 tbsp oil till golden.
8. Add the dry powders.
9. Add the fried karelas and cook covered on low heat for 5 minutes.
10. Add seasoning as required
11. Serve hot.
