Yellow moong dal – 1/4 cup, soaked in hot water for 5 minutes
Fenugreek leaves – 2 cups, chopped
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Onion – 1, chopped
Garlic – 2 cloves, grated
Green chillies – 2, chopped
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Bengal gram flour – 1 tsp
Oil – 2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Water as required
1. Heat the oil and add the cumin seeds. When they crackle, add the onion, garlic, green chillies and saute for 1 minute.
2. Add the turmeric powder, fenugreek and salt and stir.
3. Add the soaked moong dal and 1/2 cup of hot water.
4. Sprinkle the besan, mix well and bring to a boil. Simmer for some time.
I suspect that the quantity of fenugreek seeds (2 cups!) may be incorrect. Or do you mean fenugreek leaves? Even so, 2 cups is really a lot
