Beetroot Pineapple Halwa


A delicious, nutritious and simple halwa made with beetroots and pineapples.
Beetroot Pineapple Halwa

Pineapples – 2 cups
Beetroots – 2 cups
Jaggery – 2 cups, grated
Ghee – 1 1/2 tblsp
Milk Powder – 1/4 cup
Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
Cashew Nuts – 2 tblsp, crushed
Almonds – 2 tblsp, sliced

1. Wash, peel and grate the pineapples and beetroots.
2. Steam cook them both and keep aside.
3. Heat ghee in a pan over medium flame.
4. Add the beetroots and pineapples.
5. Stir well.
6. Add jaggery and mix well.
7. When the mixture starts to thicken, add the milk powder, cardamom powder and stir again.
8. After 30 seconds, switch off the flame and remove.
9. Garnish with cashews and almonds.
10. Serve.
