  • 2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • One sprig of Curry Leaves

Ground to a Smooth Paste:

  • 2 Green Cardamoms
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 1- inch stick Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Coriander Seeds
  • 3 tsp Poppy Seeds (powdered)
  • 1 1/2 inch piece Ginger (grated)
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 3-4 Cloves Garlic (optional)
  • 1/4 cup Water

Garnish:

  • 2 tbsp Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves

  • Wash the dal and soak in 2 cups of water for 30 minutes.
