Aloo Shak and Puri Recipe

3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup grated coconut, ground finely
1 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
4 curry leaves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp oil
1 tsp sugar

1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and curry leaves.
2. When seeds pop, add potatoes and chilli and tumeric powders.
3. Add 2 cups water and cook till soft.
4. Add sugar, salt and coconut.
5. Mix well and boil once.
6. Serve with puris

    Yes, you can def make your own ghee from butter.

    As as substitute for Jaggery, you can use Dark Brown Sugar or Muscovado Sugar or Mexican Piloncillo.

    I live in Mexico is piloncillo or mascabado sugar a good substitute for jaggery? Can I make my own ghee from butter? Thanks
