Ingredients:
100 gms tomatoes
100 gms masoor dal
2 red chillies
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 inch piece ginger
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
a few curry leaves
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
oil as needed
coriander leaves
Method:
1. Boil dal and tomatoes together and cook till tender.
2. Heat 1 tbsp oil, add mustard and cumin seeds, then turmeric and coriander powders alongwith broken red chillies.
3. Put in the tomato and dal mixture, sugar and salt to taste
4. Boil and remove.
5. Garnish with coriander leaves.
