Ingredients

  • 200 gms Potatoes (chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Onion (small, finely chopped (optional))
  • 1/2 Red Chilli Powder (optional)
  • Curry Leaves (little)
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • Salt as per taste
  • Coriander Leaves (handful, chopped)
  • 1 Dry Red Chilli (broken)
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium flame.
  • Add the red chillies, curry leaves, cumin seeds and fry for 10 seconds.
  • Add the onions and saute until golden brown.
  • Add the potatoes and stir.
  • After 30 seconds, add the garam masala powder, red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and mix well.
  • Sprinkle a little water and stir until the potatoes are evenly coated.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low flame for 10 minutes or until the potatoes are ooked.
  • Remove the lid and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Remove from flame.
  • Serve with rice, roti or dosa.
