Saffron is a very popular spice across the Indian subcontinent and Middle East Asia. It is often considered as one of the most expensive spices. Saffron is rich in vitamin C, manganese, potassium and has anti-oxidant properties. It helps in regulating blood pressure, haemoglobin production and in digestion. Saffron is also used as an aphrodisiac.
Ingredients:
Grean Tea Leaves – 3 tblsp
Water – 2 litres
Saffron Strands – 1 gm
To Serve:
Sugar
Mint Leaves
Lemon Slices (optional)
Method:
1. Bring water to a boil.
2. Place the tea leaves and saffron in a large teapot.
3. Pour the boiling water over and leave it for a few minutes.
4. Then strain the liquid and pour into teacups.
5. Add sugar as desired.
6. Serve with a mint sprig and lemon slice.
