Ingredients

  • 500 g Mutton (chopped into bite-sized pieces)
  • 150 g Onions (big, finely chopped)
  • 50 g Tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 50 g Ginger
  • 25 g Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 50 ml Oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Ghee - tbsp
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 2 Cinnamon

Instructions

  • Heat ghee and oil in a heavy-bottomed pan.
  • Add cinnamon, cloves, and cardamoms; fry for 30 to 60 seconds.
  • Add onions and sauté until golden.
  • Grind ginger and garlic to a fine paste; add to the pan.
  • Add tomatoes and cook for a minute.
  • Add mutton pieces and stir well.
  • Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Pour enough water and cover the pan with a lid.
  • Simmer until mutton is cooked and ghee/oil floats to the top.
  • Remove the lid and cook for an additional minute.
  • Transfer to a serving dish.
  • Serve hot.
