Aval Fruit Laddu

Red Aval (Poha)

Red Aval – 1/2 cup
Dates – 1/2 tblsp, finely copped
Cashew Nuts – 1/2 tblsp
Raisins – 1/2 tblsp
Coconut – 2 tblsp, grated
Jaggery – 1/4 cup
Apple – 1 tblsp, finely chopped
Cardamom Powder – a pinch
Ghee – 1 tblsp

1. Dry roast the aval for 45 to 60 seconds.
2. Remove, cool and grind coarsely. Do not grind it too fine or powder it.
3. Add dates, raisins, cashewnuts, cardamom powder, apple, coconut and jaggery.
4. Mix well.
5. Melt the ghee and add to the mixture.
6. Shape the mixture into small laddus and keep them on a plate to cool.
7. Store in an airtight container.
8. Serve as a dessert.
