Pumpkin Thayir Pachadi Recipe

A traditional and popular dish in South India especially in TamilNadu, the Pumpkin Curd Pachadi is a refreshing dish to cool down in the hot summer.

Pumpkin Thayir Pachadi

White Pumpkin – 1 cup, grated
Thick Curd – 1/2 cup
Green Chilli – 1, finely chopped
Ginger – 1 tsp, grated
Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal – 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida Powder – a pinch
Curry Leaves – few
Coriander Leaves – few
Oil as required
Salt as per taste

1. Squeeze the excess water from the pumpkin and add to a bowl.
2. Add the curd, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander leaves, ginger and salt.
3. Mix well.
4. Heat little oil in a pan.
5. Fry the mustard seeds, urad dal and asafoetida powder for 30 seconds.
6. Pour over the pachadi.
7. Serve.
