Hot Chilli Chutney

Ingredients:
Bengal Gram Dal – 1 cup + 1/2 tsp for tempering
Coconut – 1 cup, grated
Red Chillies – 1 cup
Tamarind Extract – 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds – little
Urad Dal – little
Asafoetida  – little
Curry Leaves – few
Oil – 2 tsp
Salt as per taste

Method:
1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan.
2. Fry the red chillies and 1 cup bengal gram dal separately.
3. Remove and keep aside.
4. Fry the grated coconut till golden and remove.
5. Grind these 3 together with tamarind extract and salt to a thick paste.
6. Heat 1 tsp oil in a separate pan.
7. Fry the mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, urad dal and 1/2 tsp bengal gram dal for 30 seconds.
8. Add the ground paste and mix well.
9. Serve as a sidedish with dosa or idli.
