Small Onions (Sambar Onions) – 1 cup, finely chopped
Tamarind Extract – 1 cup
Green Chillies – 2, chopped
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Jaggery – little (optional)
Oil – 1 tblsp
Salt as per taste
1. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
2. Saute the onions and green chillies for 1 or 2 minutes.
3. Add the tamarind extract, salt, turmeric powder, jaggery and stir well.
4. Bring to a boil.
5. Remove and serve hot with rice.
Tip: You can substitute green chillies with sambar powder.
