urad dal

Ulundu (de-husked urad dal) – 1/2 cup
Rice – 1 cup, cooked
Dry Red Chillies – 3
Black Peppercorns – 4
Ghee – 1 tblsp
Curry Leaves – 1 tblsp
Peanuts – 1 tblsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Salt as per taste

1. Dry roast the ulundu, dry red chillies and peppercorns for 30 seconds.
2. Remove and grind to a powder.
3. Heat ghee in a pan.
4. Fry the mustard seeds, peanuts and curry leaves for 20 seconds.
5. Combine this with the rice along with the ground ulundu powder.
6. Add salt and mix well.
7. Serve.
