Ellu Sukku Rice (Sesame Dry Ginger Rice)


Black Sesame Seeds

Rice – 2 cups, cooked
Black Sesame Seeds – 2 tsp
Sukku (Dry Ginger) – a small piece, powdered
Mustard Seeds – little
Urad Dal – little
Bengal Gram Dal – little
Curry Leaves – few
Asafoetida Powder – a pinch
Gingelly Oil – 1 tblsp
Salt as per taste

1. Dry roast the sesame seeds for 30 seconds and grind to a powder.
2. Heat oil in a pan.
3. Add the urad dal, bengal gram dal, mustard seeds, asafoetida powder and curry leaves.
4. Fry for 30 seconds.
5. Add the sukku podi, rice and sesame powder.
6. Add salt and stir to mix.
7. Serve.
