Sorakkai Sabji (Bottle Gourd Sabji) Recipe

Sorakkai / Bottle Gourd

Ingredients:
Sorakkai (Bottle Gourd) – 1 cup, chopped
Bengal Gram Dal – 3 tsp, cooked
Onions – 3, chopped
Tomatoes – 2 tsp, chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – a pinch
Green Chillies – 2, chopped
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Vendhaya Keerai – 1/4 cup, chopped
Coriander Leaves – few, chopped
Oil – 1 tsp
Salt as per taste

Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Saute the onions, green chillies, ginger garlic paste and tomatoes for a minute or two.
3. Add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
4. Pour 1/2 cup of water, sorakkai pieces and cook till 3/4ths done.
5. Add vendhaya keerai and cooked dal.
6. Stir to mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
8. Serve with rice.
