Cabbage Carrot Poriyal

Cabbage – 250 gms, finely sliced
Carrot – 50 gms, chopped
Moong Dal – 1 tblsp, cooked
Coconut – 4 tsp, grated
Turmeric Powder – a pinch
Small Onions – 6, chopped
Green Chilli – 1, chopped
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Oil – 2 tsp
Salt as per tsate

1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Fry the mustard seeds and urad dal for 20 seconds.
3. Add the onions, green chillies and saute well for 2 minutes.
4. Add the sliced cabbage and little water.
5. Add salt and cover the pan with a lid.
6. Cook for 5 minutes and add the cooked dal.
7. Add carrot, turmeric powder and grated coconut.
8. Mix well and remove after a minute or two.
9. Serve hot with rice, roti or naan.
