The Journalist Recipe

Practice makes perfect with this one, as the balance of sweet to dry is important to the final drink.


  • Gin – 3 parts
  • Sweet Vermouth – a dash or two
  • Dry Vermouth – a dash or two
  • Lemon Juice – 3 to 4 dashes
  • Triple Sec – 4 dashes
  • Angostura Bitters – 4 dashes
  • Ice
  • Cherry


  1. Combine and shake all the liquid ingredients over ice until well frosted.
  2. Strain into an iced martini glass.
  3. Garnish with a cherry.
  4. Serve.
