Schezwan Sauce

Schezwan Sauce

Ingredients:

  • Sesame Oil – 1/2 cup
  • Whole Red Peppers – 8
  • Onions – 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic – 2 tblsp, chopped
  • Ginger – 2 tblsp, minced
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Corn Flour – 4 tblsp, mixed with a cup of water
  • Vinegar – 2 tblsp
  • Soy Sauce – 2 tsp
  • Chilli Sauce – 2 tsp
  • Salt – 2 tsp

Method:

  1. Grind the onions, ginger and garlic together.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Saute the whole red peppers till dark.
  4. Add the onion paste and stir-fry over high heat.
  5. Add the corn flour mixture.
  6. Reduce flame and add the chilli powder, vinegar, soy sauce, chilli sauce and salt.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Cook till well blended and use as desired.
