Schezwan Sauce - Schezwan Sauce


  • Sesame Oil – 1/2 cup
  • Whole Red Peppers – 8
  • Onions – 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic – 2 tblsp, chopped
  • Ginger – 2 tblsp, minced
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Corn Flour – 4 tblsp, mixed with a cup of water
  • Vinegar – 2 tblsp
  • Soy Sauce – 2 tsp
  • Chilli Sauce – 2 tsp
  • Salt – 2 tsp


  1. Grind the onions, ginger and garlic together.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Saute the whole red peppers till dark.
  4. Add the onion paste and stir-fry over high heat.
  5. Add the corn flour mixture.
  6. Reduce flame and add the chilli powder, vinegar, soy sauce, chilli sauce and salt.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Cook till well blended and use as desired.

  30. what type of red pepper?did you guys use red bell peppers or chili peppers?

  31. keep this recipe for future use. You can add the sauce to vegetables, chicken, prawns, duck and boiled almonds.
